With Ocean Upcycling multifunctional scarves made from SeaqualTM yarn the family company, P.A.C., is making a statement against plastic being dumped in the oceans. The German manufacturer collaborates with the European organisation Seaqual – an initiative of NGOs, scientists, companies and over 1,500 fishermen, who collect waste in their nets. The completely recycled (PET) yarn is made from ocean plastic, exclusively gathered and processed in Europe. In terms of quality and haptic feel, the scarves that can be decorated with a sublimation print and dyed in Pantone shades are on a par with models made from polyester.
For the production of the items in Germany, P.A.C. cooperates with integrative workshops and partly implements own generated green electricity. Furthermore, in comparison to conventional polyester, the processing of the recycled raw material saves 45% in CO2 emissions.
By implementing Ocean Upcycling multifunctional scarves, promoting companies make an active contribution to cleaning the oceans and at the same time reap positive benefits in terms of their corporate communications. This was reason enough for the jury to distinguish the scarves with a Promotional Gift Award in the category Communicative Products.
