Here sublimation printing meets knitted socks: GrenzGänger (border crossers) by Aber design are classic, knitted business socks – plain or patterned – with a freely positionable area that can be embellished with a sublimation print. As a result of the combination of different materials, the socks can be individualised using the sublimation technique. This enables highly detailed motifs and logos also with colour gradients, through to a photo print – possibilities which weren’t available in the promotional footwear segment until now. The creative idea earned Aber design a Promotional Gift Award in the category Customising Technologies.
The eye-catching socks are produced in Germany, patterns can be worked into the classic socks and the sublimation print surface can be freely designed, personalisations can also be realised. The chemical process of the sublimation technique prevents the print from fading even after the socks have been washed many times. The best example of a successful implementation: the Hannover living socks that were developed together with Pieper Werbemittel.
