The Seed Donor of the company Pferdeapfel Naturdünger is an advertising ambassador of long-lasting impact. This earned the item a Promotional Gift Award in the category Communicative Products: Designed in a compact cube-shaped format, the dispenser conceals seven small boxes containing vegetable, flower or herb seeds, which are ideally all to be planted in different months.
The principle is simple: One opens the bottom flap of the Seed Donor and extracts the first packet of seeds. The packet contains the seeds wrapped inside a pouch to protect them against germs and a growth booster in the form of the natural fertilizer pellets Pferdeapfel Naturdünger. A small flag bearing the name of the seeds to be planted can be detached from the seed packaging. Inserted into the ground after planting the seeds, it informs the recipient where which plants are currently growing. Overall, the standard version of the Seed Donor provides seven types of plants for seven months, but individually compiled seed mixtures are possible too, also in organic quality.
To a large extent the raw materials comprise of items of organic and European origin. The cardboard boxes are PEFC-certified, the fertilizer pellets, Pferdeapfel Naturdünger, are distinguished with the “organic gardening” certificate. Both the production of the fertiliser and the picking and packing of the product take place in Austria.
