Hardly anything conveys the corporate DNA better than a haptic messenger that is produced from company-owned materials – that is the theory of it. S/Consept recently provided the tangible evidence in the form of a rollerball it developed for Walter Knoll AG. The writing instrument that was exclusively made for the furniture manufacturer is covered with waste leather from the luxury chairs and sofas Knoll is famous for. During a site visit, the large amount of leather waste caught the eye of Alexander Slemp, CEO of S/Consept, and he came up with the idea of using the high-quality waste product for haptic communication messengers. In 2017, all of the customers received the rollerball in precisely that leather they had chosen for their piece of furniture as a Christmas gift. This role model in well-done upcycling earned itself a distinction in the category Custom-made Designs.
